JIDE KOSOKO, DELE ODULE, OTHERS BACK MR. LATIN’S FOUNDATION

THE FOUNDATION IS LAUNCHING AN ANNUAL LECTURE SERIES.
The National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, NANTAP, led by their leader, actor, Jide Kosoko, have endorsed Mr. Latin Foundation, established by popular Yoruba actor, Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr. Latin.
The foundation undertakes charity works including offsetting the medical bills of the underprivileged, enlightening the public on the dangers of drugs and child abuse, as well as empowering the youth and widows.
Hundreds of actors led by Kosoko paid a courtesy call on Wednesday to Mr. Latin, at his office in Abeokuta, ahead of the maiden edition of the Foundation’s annual lecture series.
Mr. Kosoko commended Mr. Latin, praising the good works the foundation has done so far and declared the association’s support.
“Let me say this openly that the entire theatre practitioners in this country are solidly behind the foundation as a result of the man behind the project, who is known for his sincerity of purpose. We are in full support and optimistic that it is going to be a success,” he said.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the foundation, Dele Odule, in his remarks, said he was impressed by Mr. Latin’s concern for the less privileged; hence, his resolve to serve and be part of the laudable project.
“The foundation is coming at the right time, and it is a clear fact that comedians not only put smiles on the faces of their fans, but also in their lives. I want to appreciate Mr. Latin for this initiative and we are going to rally round him and give adequate support,” Odule, also a prominent Yoruba actor, said.
Responding, Mr. Latin explained that the foundation’s goals are to bring the affluent in the society closer to the poorer masses and help the underprivileged face the challenges of unemployment and government neglect.
As part of preparations for its maiden lecture series, the foundation, as well as some members of NANTAP, will pay a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on October 27.
